Animal fashion disasters
3. Sage grouse
The male sage grouse comes fully equipped with two yellowish air sacs underneath his feathers which fill with air and makes a popping sound that is heard from up to three miles away – the louder the pop, the more attractive the male. The bird even sings and dances, but unfortunately while they get carried away with their talent contest predators move in. So much so that the population now has twice as many females as males.
