Avril Lavigne says she doesn't need an entourage.
The 'Complicated' singer has revealed she likes to stay out of the showbiz fray by refusing to surround herself with a team of stylists and hangers-on.
The Canadian grunge queen said: "I don't need a posse. I'm very independent and very low-maintenance.
"I don't like people touching my hair, doing my make-up or telling me what to wear."
The singer says she prefers making up her own mind, adding: "I just find the less people around, the better. I don't need people telling me what to do."
Avril has also proved she can look after herself after recently kicking a girl for criticising her music.
She was so furious with being told she had ruined punk rock music - she retaliated by getting in a fight.
Avril confessed: "Some chick came up to me in a bar and said, 'You're not punk rock.' So I kicked her in the box and shoved her.
"I never once said I was punk. I'm just a really strong, opinionated person."
