Britney Spears is reportedly under round-the-clock medical care over fears she could lose her unborn baby.
The singer, who last week announced she was expecting her first child with husband Kevin Federline, was rushed to hospital earlier this month after suffering "implantation bleeding", which can result in miscarriage.
Now Britney's worried mother, Lynne, has reportedly hired a team of nurses after doctors said there was a chance the star could lose her baby if it happened again.
A source said: "Britney was in tears. Although she wasn't in any pain, the prospect of losing the child she was desperate for really got to her."
Britney was rushed to a private clinic last weekend (09.04.05) after experiencing severe abdominal pains.
Her condition was later played down as a "common complaint", though Britney was kept under observation for two days.
Britney - who last week revealed she is expecting a baby girl - announced her happy news last Tuesday (12.04.05) on her website.
She wrote: "The time has finally come to share our wonderful news that we are expecting our first child together.
"There were reports I was in the hospital this weekend. Kevin and I just want everyone to know that all is well."
