The Sex Pistols - Filthy Lucre Tour (1996) – MISS
Johnny Rotten originally left the group in 1978, and a year later Sid Vicious died of a drug overdose. It seemed the anti-establishment rockers were over, and many feel they should’ve stayed that way.
But the infamous 1996 reunion tour was just a cash-in – even the tour’s title reeked of a merely lucrative venture. Remember that the group have only ever recorded one (admittedly awe-inspiring) studio album and have been riding off it ever since.
It was made all the more terrible by the fact that Rotten had resorting to peddling Country Life Butter adverts in 2009. The result was cringe inducing and about as far away from the codes of punk rock as it can get.
