The richest animals and their owners
1) Gunther IV
Gunther IV is a pedigree Alsatian worth $180 million. In 1999, he headlined as "the richest dog in the world" when he made a bid to purchase Sylvester Stallone's $27.5 million dollar waterfront estate. He rarely makes public appearances these days.
Gunther inherited the money from his imaginatively-named father Gunther III, who was given $60m when German countess Karlotta Libenstein died in 1992. With his money Gunther could buy Mel Gibson's personal island paradise 12 times over!
