What the flopped stars do now
MC Hammer
In the late 80s, the rapper made a £15 million fortune with 'Please Hammer Don't Hurt 'Em' which was one of the best-selling rap albums of all time. Luxurious homes and endless amounts of merchandise - he was a true money-spinner. But with 300 people on his personal payroll (costing £250,000 per month), he went bust.
Now Hammer has reinvented himself as an evangelist TV preacher under his real name Stanley Burrell. He said: "What got most crazy for me was the reality - the big price that I paid for celebrity. I had too many friends. There were too many unnecessary jobs. Do I have regrets? I'm just not one to do that."
