Whistleblowers who risked it all
Deep Throat
'Deep Throat' is the pseudonym for a source who leaked information regarding President Richard Nixon's part in the Watergate scandal to Washington Post reporters Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein.
Together they publicised the scandal which would eventually lead to the resignation of President Nixon as well as prison terms for White House staff members.
In 2005 W. Mark Felt, a former Associate Director of the US Federal Bureau of Investigation, confirmed to Vanity Fair magazine that he was Deep Throat. The film 'All the President's Men' dramatises the true story, with Hal Holbrook playing the shadowy whistleblower.
