A new book claims to reveal the private details behind Mick Jagger’s affair with Carla Bruni. The younger woman seemed so hopelessly love-struck with the Rolling Stones that she travelled to Thailand to be with him the day after Mick’s wife Jerry Hall gave birth to the couple’s daughter.
The book also shares other stories, such as how Mick wooed Carla away from yet another rockstar Eric Clapton, how Carla came face to face in a shocking confrontation with Jerry Hall, and how she also had a dalliance with another famous personality, Donald Trump.
The book, which is called ‘Mick: The Wild Life and Mad Genius of Jagger’ and was written by Christopher Andersen, chronicles the wild life of the singer and therefore zoomed in on the affair with Bruni. The affair was one of the reasons that led to the end of the Jagger and Hall marriage.
Mick Jagger and Carla Bruni met when the latter was still a 23-year-old model. It was during The Rolling Stones 1990 Urban Jungle Tour, an event that the model attended together with Eric Clapton, whom she was dating at the time.
Clapton commented on the matter, saying “I knew Carla would appeal to (Mick).” According to reports, Clapton even told his friend, “Please, Mick. Not this one. I think I’m in love,” and begged him to stay away.
Despite this, Jagger and Bruni nevertheless entered into an affair, at about the same time the model was reported to also be linked to Donald Trump. Although Bruni seemed every bit stuck on Jagger, author Anderson claims that she offered to leave Jagger alone if Trump ended his relationship with his fiancée during that time, Marla Maples.
Nevertheless, Jagger and Bruni continued their affair even on the day after Mick’s daughter Georgia was born. The couple was said to have checked into a villa in Phuket. A bartender at the villa said that the couple “was not hiding.”
The book also describes how Hall called Jagger on the phone and asked whether he was with Carla, which Jagger denied. Eventually, however, Hall reportedly found a note Bruni wrote to Jagger. The note is said to have read, “I’ll be your mistress forever.”
The two former models then had a confrontation at the Ritz Hotel lobby, where Hall was said to have called Bruni a tramp and asked her why she couldn’t leave Jagger alone.
