Chris Rock was just one of the celebrities who stopped at Pier 54 to watch David Blaine’s latest stunt in New York, but he was the lucky one chosen to press a button that sent a million volts through Blaine’s body for 72hours - while he wore a chain-mail body hooked to two conductors.
This was all part of Blaine’s latest stunt called Electrified One Million Volt Always On wherein the famed illusionist aimed to control the Tesla coils that sent currents throughout his body.
The ‘Grown Ups’ star was game for the challenge with fellow celebrities Alicia Silverstone and Woody Harrelson, who were also reportedly in the crowd, declining the offer.
Rock was not the only one who participated in the stunt.
Although he was the one who pushed the button, various fans of Blaine from all over the world were encouraged to be part of the controversial million-volt endurance test.
According to Female First they partook by controlling the power surges from various sites worldwide.
The three-day feat, which began on Friday, October 5th, and ended on Monday night, October 8th, was understood to have been streamed live on the internet.
