British scientists at BAE Systems are in the process of developing a spider bot. Designed for the army to hunt down enemies, carry tiny bombs and identify weapon placements - a prototype of the undercover insect model is already in action.
Reminiscent of the mechanical insects that featured in Tom Cruise's science fiction epic 'Minority Report', the spiders will be placed on the tracks of vehicles, ready to move off under remote control once close to the target.
