MySpace
MySpace has been undisputedly the No 1 social networking site, brought in July 2005 by News Corporation, the company owned by Rupert Murdoch. Today it is the fifth most popular website in the world, allowing you to view information, pictures and music from users and to make contact with them.
The danger:MySpace has faced problems including the expulsion of 29,000 registered sex offenders from their service in 2007.
MySpace has been praised for taking such measures by industry watchdogs and operates strict policies to protect including a minimum age restriction to the service of 14, restrictions placed on accounts until the user is 18 and IP rather than account banning.
