Tomorrow's technology today
Hologram technology
US news station CNN committed their very own world first when they showcased political correspondent Jessica Yellin as a hologram reporting live from over 700 miles away.
Yellin appeared three-dimensionally to viewers, somewhat fuzzy and seeming to glow around the edges. She explained that her image was being filmed in Chicago by 35 high-definition cameras set in a ring inside a special tent. The images were then processed and synchronized by 20 computers to the cameras in the New York studio and seen on screen.
