Bionic eye
Two blind patients have regained their vision after receiving bionic eye implants. The patients, both men in their 50s had minute, ultra-thin electronic receivers inserted behind their eyes.
The science counteracts the effects of their hereditary retinitis pigmentosa conditions and works on wireless technology to send a picture from a tiny camera mounted on glasses worn by the men to their eyes.
