Following a major flaw in Microsoft's Internet Explorer which allowed hackers to take control of millions of users' computers, Microsoft have released an emergency patch.

The update addresses a major issue with the following program:

  • Microsoft Internet Explorer

The update fixes one flaw listed as 'critical', the most urgent that the company provides.

The update fixes weaknesses in the programs that if exploited could allow somebody to take control of the applications to alter and delete data.

The patch solves problems that can affect both PC users and Mac users.

All Windows users, including those with Vista, are urged to apply the update immediately by clicking on the provided link.
