War of the formats
MySpace v FaceBook
The winner: ???
Launched in 1999 MySpace has been a worldwide phenomenon, popularising social networking. As of the February 2008 the site had over 3million users and claimed to be the sixth most visited website on the net.
In 2004 a competitor began a challenge for the thrown. Founded by a Harvard graduate and initially used as a campus based service, FaceBook was here.
The battle rages on to this day. MySpace may have the edge but FaceBook is not only catching up but has also taken over in several major countries including the UK.
