Which smartphone is right for you?
Motorola Dext
History
On the other side of the Operating System pond is the Google Android which has garnered much support since its release. The new Dext is Motorola's first Android based phone and thanks to this slicker OS and the Motorblur feature (that synchronises all your contacts with social networking sites) may just help save this once-thriving now-flagging brand which has been dwarfed by Nokia and more recently Apple.
Target audience
Avid social networkers and texters will appreciate the full QUERTY keyboard, which is hidden behind the 3.1 inch screen and the 'happenings' widget that keeps all your Facebook and Twitter feeds together in one place.
Verdict
The Dext is all the better for the Android OS though it only supports the 1.5 version, and as such is likely to be considered a stepping stone to Motorola's soon to be released Milestone (Android 2.0).
However, there are many features and customisable options to keep its users very happy in the meantime. Dext is one of the best Android based media phones currently on the market, though the build quality could have been better.
