Former 'Auf Wiedersehen Pet' star Tim Healy is joining 'Coronation Street' - to play Sean Tully's dad.
The actor will arrive in Weatherfield as the estranged father of the gay factory worker, played by Antony Cotton.
His appearance in the 'Street' will trigger an emotional period for Sean who struggles to come to terms with his dad's reappearance after many years.
A 'Street' source told Britain's Daily Star newspaper: "Brian walked out on Sean and his mum when his son was 10 and he hasn't seen him since. Brian has now remarried, lives in a nice house and is doing all right for himself.
"There will be heartache and tears along the way - and some joy."
Actor Healy is following in actress wife Denise Welch's footsteps by joining the soap.
The blonde star, who is currently appearing in BBC drama 'Waterloo Road', played barmaid Natalie Barnes for three years and proved popular with viewers until her departure in 2000.
