A new film will see Angelina Jolie star as the ultimate sex symbol Marilyn Monroe.

In the Hollywood adaptation of Andrew O'Hagan's novel 'The Life and Opinions of Maf The Dog, and Of His Friend Marilyn Monroe', Jolie will play the blonde bombshell, as observed by her pet pooch Maf in the last two years of her life.

Other names for the role have included Scarlet Johansson but O'Hagan confirmed the news at the Edinburgh Book Festival. What's more, the gorgeous George Clooney is set to play ol' blue eyes Frank Sinatra.
