David Duchovny has denied through a spokesman the reports that claim he was dating former X-Files co-star Gillian Anderson.
The two actors shared the spotlight on the hit 90s sci-fi show. Reports say that they have quietly moved in together after Anderson split up with her long-term partner Mark Griffiths. The two X-Files stars are now said to be sharing a home in Los Angeles.
Duchovny’s representatives, however, have since come out to say that the rumours are completely false.
Anderson, who announced she had split with six-year partner this week, turns 44 today. Prior to her relationship with Mark Griffiths, she was married to X-Files assistant art director Clyde Klotz. The two wed in a Buddhist ceremony in 1994 and had a daughter Piper Maru together in that same year. They divorced three years later in 1997. She was then married to documentary maker Julian Ozanne for two years. The marriage also ended in separation in 2006.
Meanwhile, Duchovny married actress Tea Leoni in 1997. The two have two children together, but also divorced in 2011.
The two actors’ status as both single has sparked tabloid gossip about a possible romance. The two worked together for a long time between 1993 and 2002 and again for a movie version of the series in 2008. Their long history together made it easy for fans to believe the rumors.
After denying romance gossip, Duchovny’s representative simply said that the two actors remain close friends.
