It was the year for sci-fi at the 2010 Empire awards. Now in its 15th year, the Jameson Empire gongs are the only film awards to be voted for entirely by British fans.
3D spectacular 'Avatar' clawed back from its defeat at the Oscars, taking three awards, including best director for James Cameron, best film and best actress for Zoe Saldana.
Collecting the award on behlaf of Saldana was comic Johnny Vagas.
