10 of the greatest ever screen car chases
Live and Die in LA (1985)
Many say that William Freidkin mastered the chase scene with 'The French Connection' but he's consistently tried to outdo himself ever since, and this is his most accomplished effort: the counterfeit cash thriller 'To Live and Die in L.A.'.
While 'The French Connection' was claustrophobic and contained, this expands out into the highways and train tracks. The epic chase scene is too long to fit into one YouTube clip, but the very 1980s trailer offers a tantalising glimpse of the film's relentless energy, which includes a car crashing through some cardboard boxes!
