Not your typical Stephen King adaptation, 'The Shawshank Redemption' ranks as one of the most moving films of all time. Tim Robbins plays Andy Dufresne, an innocent man who spends two decades in the fictional Shawshank State Prison.

There, he bonds with Red (Morgan Freeman) in a stirring exploration of innocence and guilt, freedom and restraint, hope, faith, religion and plenty more.

Strangely enough, the film nearly bombed on its initial theatrical release but after being rejuvenated on video and bagging seven Oscar nominations, it has rightly been considered as one of cinema's finest.
