Another classic from the master of the inspirational film, Frank Capra, 'Mr Smith Goes to Washington' is the classic tale of one man taking on an overwhelming system – a crooked government. Convinced that his innocence and good intentions will see him through, he makes a stand against corruption against the odds.

While the film is peppered with touching scenes, the most unforgettable moment is when Smith (James Stewart) gives his speech to the unimpressed politicians in Washington and vows to keep standing, making his case until he eventually faints from exhaustion.
