Zoe Saldana, plays the part of Cataleya, a young woman who after watching the murder of her parent’s grows up to be an assassin, hell-bent on revenge.

Moving to Chicago to stay with her grandmother and hit-man uncle, Emilio, the young Cataleya makes it clear that her ambition is to kill Don Luis, the gang leader who killed her family after refusing to let her father leave the drug smuggling gang without a fight.

An artist in disguise, nimbleness and creative murder Cataleya works as a hit woman for her uncle but in her spare time she takes on a personal task: hunting down her parent’s killer.  

In this story of vengeance and family, Saldana puts on yet another stunning performance as a courageous, free woman with some fantastic assassin skills. Yet despite her hard exterior a strange love story runs through the action but will her lover do more harm than good?

The film focuses almost solely on Cataleya, with most other characters taking a back seat. However, Amandla Stenberg who plays 10-year-old Cataleya proves herself to be a superb young actress and one to watch.

The story is essentially a build up to the climax which is clear from the beginning - will the clever stone-cold assassin get the revenge she desperately wants in a final showdown with her parent’s murderer or will they get to her first?

The plot wins no awards for originality but overall it is action packed from start to finish with all the guns and explosions any action lover wants and is worth a watch.
