Jim Davidson is the kind of comic that divides his critics thanks to his outlandish approach. He's the type of comedian where many would state that he's just being controversial and un-PC for the sake of it, for a quick laugh. This is a very strong case.

It's not always a bad thing - Lenny Bruce mastered the art of sticking it to the man, dissecting society and revealing it to be the contorted farce that it is. George Carlin continued the trend with another high level of success but others like Jim Davidson and Roy Chubby Brown are yet to truly make their mark.

While he does offer the occasional shot in the arm of well thought out observational comedy (his view on sat navs is classic for example), he never opts for anything subtle or particularly lasting. Of course, this could be exactly what some people are after, and, to his credit, the audience lap it up.

If you enjoy a spot of degradation and smutty humour, this is the one for you. Sophisticated tastes should probably look elsewhere, but the thing about Jim Davidson is that he's an every man, and while every man in the world may not find him funny, a lot can relate. Proceed with caution!
