Eddie Murphy's 10 best comedies
9. Bowfinger (1999)
This lightweight Hollywood satire was one of Eddie Murphy's few '90s films that worked. Frank Oz paired him alongside Steve Martin after Keanu Reeves was unable to play the sidekick role.
Martin plays a film producer adamant on casting Murphy's hotshot film star character but decides to film him without his knowledge, hurling the script's scenarios into his life for him to react to. A brilliant concept, but somewhat overlooked in cinemas, opening next to 'Austin Powers 2' and 'Big Daddy'.
