Originally a vehicle for Sylvester Stallone, frantic rewrites were called for when Eddie Murphy replaced him at the last minute. 'Beverly Hills Cop' worked liked a dream and ended up being one of the biggest films of the 80s.
It spawned two sequels and there is talk of one more, but they'll struggle to topple this classic. Who can forget that classic theme tune? 'Beverly Hills Cop' expertly balanced light comedy with surprisingly tough action, but which funny thriller managed it even better?
