Sir Paul's squirrel 'to be shot'
Sir Paul McCartney's children's book 'High in the Clouds' is to be made into a film.
According to Variety, Sir Paul will also pen new songs for the animated adaptation of the book which is about the adventures of Wirral the squirrel.
The film version will be directed by Rob Minkoff, whose credits include 'The Lion King' and 'Stuart Little'.
This will be Sir Paul's biggest involvement in a major animation since The Beatles' 'Yellow Submarine' in 1968, in which he starred.
Wirral the Squirrel, described as a "cheeky Scouse nut-muncher", made his animation debut in a video accompanying Sir Paul's 2004 song 'Tropical Island Hum'.
The book was co-written by Philip Ardagh and illustrated by Geoff Dunbar.
