In August 2008, it was announced that the original cast from the series would be reuniting to film footage for four 30-minute specials, all to be broadcast on the digital channel Dave.They pull them off without any disaster, showing that the cast still had what it takes.

As for a film version of the sci-fi show, there was speculation that a project would happen in 2005, but still there are no results.
