The Voice 2012Get to know all the acts and the coaches
Sam Buttery and Sophie Griffin have become the first acts to leave The Voice UK.
Sam found himself in the danger zone alongside duo Matt and Sueleen, after both acts received the fewest number of public votes for Tom Jones' Team.
Jones opted to pick the couple over Buttery, saying:
"They're both great entertainers. It's very difficult because they're so different. I can only judge it on last night's performance, and I think I'm going to take Matt and Sueleen."
After the announcement, a tearful Buttery said:
"I hope that people won't be losing me. This isn't the end for me, I've loved working for Tom.
"Obviously I'm gutted and it feels like my heart has been ripped out, but I'm still happy.
Coach will.i.am was then forced to choose which of his acts to send home, after Sophie Griffin and Joelle Moses received the fewest public votes.
The Black Eyed Peas singer decided to send 17-year-old Sophie home over Joelle, saying:
"I promise you, me and Dante and Apl [of The Black Eyed Peas] are going to be there for you whatever you need. But for the show, I'm gonna take Joelle."
Griffin commented:
"I couldn't have had a better coach. It's been a dream come true."
The Voice UK returns next Saturday at 7.10pm on BBC One, when Jessie J and Danny ODonoghues teams will perform live for the first time.
