Gibson swears at reporter as a live TV interview ends

Oscar winning actor and director Mel Gibson ended a live interview by swearing at the reporter via a TV link, prompting an internet sensation into the clip on YouTube.
Gibson was quizzed on Chicago-based station WGN about his alcohol addiction and anti-Semitic rant towards a police officers four years ago, while promoting his comeback film 'Edge of Darkness'.
The controversial 54-year-old 'Lethal Weapon' star aimed his comment at entertainment reporter Dean Richards, thinking that his microphone had been switched off.
Richards asked him if he was a better person after his notorious drink driving arrest.
Gibson replied: "Its a real rollercoaster ride. You know I think I'm the same person I always was except for ... time teaches and you learn as you go."
Richards then asked Gibson if he thought the public would perceive him any differently while making reference to his drinking problems and his anti-Semitic rant.
Gibson replied in agitation: "Thats almost four years ago dude. I've moved on. I guess you haven't. I've done all the necessary mea culpas, um, let's move on dude, come on."
Richards tailed off the interview by telling Gibson it was good to see him back doing what he does best.
Gibson was still on camera when he quickly necked his drink and said: "Bye, bye --------."
'Edge of Darkness' marks Mel Gibson's first leading role in front of the cameras since 'Signs' in 2002. Since then, Gibson focussed on directing the controversial 'The Passion' and 'Apocalypto'. The filmmaker picked up Best Director and Best Picture Oscars for 1995's 'Braveheart'.
