Rock legends Guns N’ Roses were bottled off stage after they arrived more than an hour late for an arena gig in Dublin.

The American band, who are notorious for their unreliability, were greeted with boos by large sections of the crowd at the O2 on September 1.

The Axl Rose fronted band were scheduled to appear at around 9.15pm, but didn’t show up until 10.25pm, according to Entertainment.ie.

Upon entering the stage, they began their set with ‘Welcome To The Jungle’, but they couldn't make it all the way through as too many bottles were being launched into the crowd.

Rose stopped the gig and was captured on video telling the crowd: “Alright, here’s the deal: one more bottle, we go home. It’s up to you.

“We would like to stay. Do you want us to stay? We want to stay. We want to have some fun. If you don’t want to have fun all you’ve got to do is let us know - we’ve got no problem - and we’ll go on our way.”

The band went on to play three more songs before walking off stage, after which an employee at the venue apologised to the crowd, telling them to "have a bit of hush for a minute".

“We’re trying hard to get Axl back on stage,” he said. “I would ask you to refrain from throwing items at him.”

An O2 spokesperson confirmed to Gigwise that Rose was restrained from leaving the venue. The rockers went back on stage to play a brief set for what was left of the crowd, who continued to boo them.
