Katie Price and Alex Reid wed in Las Vegas ceremony

Model Katie Price and her cage fighter lover Alex Reid have tied the knot.

In a private, simple Las Vegas ceremony, the two exchanged vows at 16:00 (PST)) on Tuesday night  in the Wynn Hotel marriage chapel.

Price, formerly known as the model Jordan, and Reid, who won Celebrity Big Brother the week before, have been dating for seven months.

In a statement, the couple said: "We are very much in love and look forward to the future together.

"We can't wait to get back and celebrate our marriage with our friends and family who we know fully support our wishes."

The happy couple are expected back in the UK later this week.

Rumours of their imminent union had circulated since the beginning of the week and Price spoke about her plans to wed in a recent interview, saying: "This year I will marry Alex and I'm going to have his kids".

Price had a very public split with husband Peter Andre in May 2009 after 4 and a half years of marriage.

He has spoken out about the wedding saying he has "no negative feelings".

Speaking on Radio 1's 'Chris Moyles Show', Andre said: "As long as there's a good influence to the kids, I'm happy.

"I don't have any negative feelings inside me. As long as they're happy, great."

Amid speculation that Price and Reid were faking their relationship for the media, the pair's publicist said in a statement: "Their decision to marry has not been made with any pre-conceived commercial plan or media deal in place.

"Their reason for getting married is purely down to their love for each other."

On returning to I'm a Celebrity... where she met ex-husband Andre, viewers repeatedly voted the glamour model to perform the gruelling jungle challenges and Price quit.

In her exit interview, she revealed that she had split from Reid, who had also flown to Australia where the show is made.

She said at the time: "It's best that I'm on my own. I don't want a relationship... I'm not with him, no."

However, Price said she was "heartbroken" at breaking off the relationship, and the pair were reunited.

On the launch night of Celeb Big Brother, Reid was booed by the crowds but came out victorious.

On winning, presenter Davina McCall asked him how he had turned the public's perception around, he said: "I'm speechless. My whole agenda in here was just to be myself. I know I'm a good guy.

"They got it wrong about me and they've got it wrong about Katie."

Asked by McCall: "Who is Alex Reid?", he said: "He's a man, he's passionate, he's going to win a fight in three months. I'm a fighter and I'm a man in love."
