Max George and Michelle Keegan have called off their engagement, it has been reported.
The Wanted singer and the Coronation Street actress got engaged last year after a six month relationship, but now it appears the wedding has been called off.
During a phone interview on Ryan Seacrests radio show, the host noted the engagement, but in response George said, "No, no, no, not anymore," before ending the call.
The presenter told listeners that it was an "innocent question" and was not "contrived" and that they would attempt to reconnect with the 23-year-old star.
The radio station's official Twitter feed also posted:
"BREAKING: @MaxTheWanted from @thewantedmusic is not engaged anymore!"
However, a spokesperson for actress Keegan has told entertainment website Digital Spy that the pair remain together, explaining:
Michelle and Max are still very much together as a couple, but they are both traditionalists and realised that there is no point in being engaged until they are in a position to plan a wedding."
Both Keegan and George had been forced to deny split rumours earlier in the year, with a spokesperson for the actress confirming that a date for the wedding had never been set in place by the couple.
The Wanted are currently on a promotional tour in the US, and last week performed their hit single Glad You Came on American Idol.
