Leona Lewis attacker sectioned

The man accused of punching pop star Leona Lewis at a Waterstone’s event is suffering from acute symptoms of psychosis, a court heard yesterday.
Peter Kowalczyk was charged with attacking the X Factor winner during a book signing. He was declared "not fit" to appear and sectioned.
City of Westminster magistrates’ court was told he had been sectioned under the Mental Health Act.
It has also been revealed that Kowalczyk was once a failed contestant on The X Factor. He is being examined by psychiatrists at Lambeth Hospital, South London.
Referring to a letter from the hospital, District Judge Daphne Wickham said: "They take the view that he presently has acute symptoms of psychosis."
The man was arrested at a Waterstone's branch in Piccadilly, Central London, directly after the Bleeding Love singer was punched in the face on October 14.
The case was adjourned.
