'She's obsessed!'Madonna slams Lady Gaga
The rumours of the death of Madonnas career seem to have been greatly exaggerated, as the Queen of Pop has just overtaken Elvis Presley to become the most successful solo artist in British history.
The superstars latest album, MDNA, flew into the top spot the UK charts last night, making it the 12th number one of her career. The previous record-holder, Elvis Presley only managed 11 Number 1 albums.
The record will be a massive boost to Madonna, whose single Give Me All Your Luvin only reached Number 37 in February.
Despite the hit album, for the singer there are four critics that are much harder to please - her children.
Madonna said:
"My kids are brutally honest when it comes to what they don't like. They have no tact whatsoever. They'll just say, 'Mum, get that song off' even when mine. It's hurtful but at least they're honest."
The star, who recently made her directorial debut with film W.E. also revealed that shes working harder than ever before, in order to stay on top:
"I have to say that in more than 25 years of performing I have never worked so hard or been so scrupulous. Or freaked out more than I have at the minute.
"I'm getting ready for rehearsing my world tour so I have been in training. There's been lots of cardio and I'm doing a combination of pilates and dance cardio. The envelope I'm pushing for is as spectacular a show as I can. It should be a feast for the eyes and ears."
Whatever the tour brings, one thing is for sure - Madonnas not ready to give up her crown just yet.
