Forget Django Reinhardt, Wes Montgomery's guitar work isn't overstated on this album title - it really is incredible. A definite influence on George Benson and Pat Metheny before they struck pop/jazz fame in the 1970s, Montgomery's electric, twisting and driving fretwork is a force to be reckoned with.

Stripped down to just guitar, piano, bass and drums, Montgomery's chord melodies roam beautifully over his band, while his solos blister in heart-stopping timing. To many, he is the ultimate electric jazz guitarist. For an example of his influential talents in a live setting, check out his 'Smokin' at the Half Note' concert album where he's backed by Miles Davis' rhythm section.
