Rocker Jon Bon Jovi has stepped out to deny rumours of his death.

The star was a victim of false reports over the weekend, which speculated that he had passed away.

One online report claimed that he had suffered a fatal heart attack, while another blog said he had been found unconscious in a hotel room.

However, the Living on a Prayer singer has playfully fought back, by releasing a picture of himself via his band's Facebook page, holding a sign which reads:

"Heaven looks a lot like New Jersey, December 19th 2011, 6.00."

Bon Jovi's spokesperson later confirmed to gossip site TMZ that he was, in fact, alive and well, and performing at a charity show.

Jon is not the only celebrity to be targeted by such rumours, with stars including Kevin Bacon, Charlie Sheen and kids television presenter Neil Buchanan all falling victim to online hoax death reports this year.
