The greatest fake bands in music history
The Rutles
With so much popularity, the Beatles had it coming and Eric Idle's pitch perfect satire film 'The Rutles: All You Need Is Cash' was the ultimate vehicle for the fab four knock-offs. Idle stars alongside John Halsey, Ricky Fataar, and Neil Innes, expertly lampooning the Beatles' personas, songs and life in the limelight.
George Harrison himself even makes a cameo as an interviewer. Other rock luminaries such as Mick Jagger and Ronnie Wood make appearances alongside comic legends like Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd and Michael Palin. Indispensable for any Beatles fans but also a brilliant creation on its own grounds. The music is fab too, but it all sounds a bit familiar...
