The King of Pop
Going solo
In 1971 Michael decided to begin a solo career while he was still a member of The Jackson 5. He never officially left the family band, however he grew apart from them.
But bigger and better things were in store. Five of Michael's solo studio albums became some of the world's best-selling records including his first'Off the Wall' (1979), 'Thriller' (1982), 'Bad' (1987), 'Dangerous' (1991) and 'History' (1995). The former won him endless awards and much critical acclaim and the King of Pop was born.
