When music legends form supergroups
Them Crooked Vultures
Formed: 2009-
The lineup: Dave Grohl (Nirvana, Foo Fighters), Josh Homme (Queens of the Stone Age), John Paul Jones (Led Zeppelin)
The story: With Homme on guitars, Grohl on drums and Jones on bass, this union represents one very loud supergroup. Their paths have crossed before but so far the details of this are pretty hush hush, but an album and tour are definitely on the cards.
After Grohl revealed the lineup, all he mischievously left us with was: "That's the next album. That wouldn't suck." Given his previous success in picking rock bands, that seems like a certainty. But which supergroups preceded Them Crooked Vultures?
