Paul O’Grady has been fired from Coronation Street musical Street of Dreams, it has been reported.

The television presenter was hired to narrate the stage show, but was sacked after apparently deciding to ignore the script.

An insider allegedly told the Daily Star:

"Paul changed the script and refused to say certain lines. He was a nightmare to work with in the end.

"The first 10 minutes of the play turned into The Paul O'Grady Show.

26307761The claims come after O'Grady hit out at producers for postponing the shows and apparently not paying the cast and crew.

The insider added:

"This is a huge production [and] it was decided that Paul should be replaced.

"He didn't take the news very well and decided to make a number of wild accusations."

Show bosses were forced to apologise to ticket holders after rescheduling tour dates after being unhappy with the quality of the production.

Julie Goodyear and Coronation Street actress Kym Marsh are among the Street of Dreams cast. It is unclear if any of the cast will return to the show.
