Radcliffe defends Lana Del Rey's SNL performance

Star of Harry Potter, Daniel Radcliffe has defended Lana Del Rey’s performance on last weekend’s showing of Saturday Night Live.
The new singer, whose debut song, Video Games, caused a stir in the music industry due to her unique tones, was heavily criticised after her performance on Saturday.
Radcliffe, who guest hosted the show, spoke at the BAFTA nominations ceremony about the criticism she received saying:
"It was unfortunate that people seemed to turn on her so quickly.

"I also think people are making it about other things other than the performance. If you read what people are saying about her online, it’s all about her past and her family and stuff that’s nobody else’s business.
"I don’t think it warranted anywhere near that reaction."
New to the showbiz scene, it may be that Lana is still adjusting to the celebrity lifestyle. In an interview with V magazine, she admitted that she is struggling to cope with the new found fame, saying:
"The one thing that has really changed is that I now have an audience. I turn up in Glasgow or Manchester and there are good people waving at me from the crowd. That’s amazing."
The up-and-coming star, who won the Next Big Thing accolade at the Q awards in October for her unique and haunting melodies, says she doesn’t feel the need to compete with other females in the industry.
Lana’s debut album, Born To Die will be released on 30 January.
