Corrie character 'expecting twins'

Tracy Barlow will discover that she is expecting twins in a forthcoming storyline, according to reports.

The Coronation Street schemer, played by Kate Ford, left the Cobbles following a one-night stand with old flame Steve McDonald.

However, she is set to return to Weatherfield to give a stunned Steve the news that she is pregnant.

The Daily Star is reporting that there will be a further twist to the storyline, when the pair learn they are having twins.

According to the publication, they will receive the news when Tracy is taken for an emergency medical examination, after fainting from extreme morning sickness.

During the consultation, the doctor is then said to discover two heartbeats, leaving Steve and Tracy lost for words.

Barlow's baby news was set to play a part in the upcoming departure of Steve's estranged wife, Becky, played by Katherine Kelly.
