Corrie's lesbian couple: We want to get married!

Coronation Street stars Brooke Vincent and Sacha Parkinson have announced that they would love their characters to get married.

The pair, who play Sophie Webster and Sian Powers on the show, have recently said they love their on-screen romance and would even quit if soap-bosses split them up.

However now they've decided that they want to take their relationship to the next level by getting married.

Sacha told The Sun newspaper:

"They should get married, I don’t see why not - it would be great!"

Brooke is equally keen for the characters to become the first lesbian couple in a soap to get married, adding:

"I’m well excited. But I’m also worried they’ll end up putting me in a suit because I’m always the one in jeans and trainers.

"We want to be nice lesbians that look pretty."

Sian and Sophie were the first lesbian couple in Coronation Street and have proved to be a big hit with viewers.

Earlier this week, the two told Heat magazine that they would leave if the couple broke up.

Vincent said: "If they split us up, I'd leave."

"It's made too much impact for them to break it up. It's gone past the line."
