The world premiere of J.J. Abrams' 'Star Trek' has been held at the Sydney Opera House to launch the release of the eagerly awaited sci-fi movie.

Stars of the film - Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Eric Bana, Karl Urban and John Cho - all turned out for event Down Under along with director J.J. Abrams and producer Bryan Burk.

Eager trekkies can catch the action packed film when it opens across the UK on May 8 but until then check out the red carpet action from Australia's Harbour city.
