At just 27-years-old, Jade Goody has lost her battle with cervical cancer and died in her sleep in the early hours of Mothering Sunday.

Prime Minister Gordon Brown paid tribute to the reality TV star saying: "I was deeply saddened to hear the news of Jade Goodys death. She was a courageous woman both in life and death and the whole country has admired her determination to provide a bright future for her children."

Since being told of her terminal condition Jade began to use her fame to raise money to provide for her boys, Bobby and Freddie. She was criticised for turning her battle with the illness into a media circus. However Jade lived much of her adult life in the spotlight and it was her wish that she died in it too.
