'Miami Vice' was one of the most iconic 1980 TV series of all, starring Don Johnson (James "Sonny" Crockett) and Philip Michael Thomas (Ricardo "Rico" Tubbs) as two Miami police detectives working undercover. The show was unlike any police shows that had gone before, with its glitzy music video-style and exotic locations.

But 'Miami Vice' is probably now most remembered for its dubious contribution to 80s fashion. Sonny Crockett introduced the t-shirt under pastel suits, no socks, rolled up sleeves, and designer stubble look.
