Bachelor HensonRugby star appearedon show last year
Spencer Matthews has been revealed as the latest lead in Channel 5 reality show, The Bachelor.
The Made in Chelsea star will take part in the latest run of the dating show, hoping to find love in the 24 women competing.
Matthews said:
"I feel flattered to have been put forward to be this year's Bachelor. The concept surrounding the show is a great one and will certainly make for an interesting adventure at this point in my life.
"After much consideration, I truly believe that the time is right to look for, and hopefully find during the process of this series, someone with whom I can share a loving and meaningful relationship."
The series will return for ten 60-minute episodes later this year on Channel 5.
Matthews, an Eton-educated city broker, began his career in PR at various London nightclubs. He also trained as an actor and attended a Los Angeles film school before joining the cast of Made in Chelsea.
Channel 5's Head of Factual Entertainment, Steve Gowans said:
"We are delighted that The Bachelor is returning to Channel 5 for a second series.
"Spencer Matthews is the perfect bachelor and we're hoping he finds his ideal partner on the show."
The first Bachelor, Gavin Henson, ex-husband of singer Charlotte Church, split from last year's winner Carianne Barrow on Valentine's Day.
