Kenneth Tong, a former contestant of Big Brother, is now the target of mass anger after he posted vile comments about Gary Barlow and his grief over stillborn daughter Poppy.
The offensive statements, which targeted the grieving couple throughout the week, were posted on Tong’s Twitter account. Kenneth, 28, was condemned by fellow Twitter users for using lyrics from a Take That song to attack the British singer and his wife in a difficult time in their lives.
As if his earlier ‘jokes’ about the situation were not enough, Kenneth also posted a picture of a child’s coffin. It was accompanied by more vile comments.
Due to the reaction of the public, Tong began to trend globally. The number of his Twitter followers increased to about 180,000.
Many Twitter users, however, rallied to defend Gary. They have began a campaign to get Twitter to shut down Tong’s profile.
Even Big Brother’s Bit On The Side presenter Jamie East commented: “Nothing would make me happier today than seeing Kenneth Tong going to prison. What an absolutely hateful, hateful human being.”
Professor Green also wrote: “Never in my life seen such a disgusting case of attention seeking…”
British model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, who Tong was following on Twitter, has blocked him from her account after the incident.
Tong also defended user Rileyy_69, who was arrested after he attacked Olympic diver Tom Daley also on Twitter.
